Construction of 15,000 Grade 9 Classes is to Begin, Says CS Machogu. The government is gearing up to construct 15,000 classrooms in anticipation of the enrollment of Grade Nine learners next year, as announced by Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu.
Machogu stated that the ministry is diligently preparing for Grade Nine, which will be integrated into primary schools. He made these remarks at Kangaru Girls during the 62nd National Drama and Film Festival, where he disclosed plans to hire 20,000 junior secondary school teachers.
The CS praised Kenya’s drama and film festivals for their progressive improvement. He emphasized that the ministry collaborates with other sectors to enhance Kenya’s creative arts industry internationally.
“We are pooling our resources to further enhance the current reality so that these talented young individuals can compete at an international level,” he remarked.
Festivals, Machogu hinted at efforts to involve neighboring East African countries in starting their drama festivals, eventually elevating them to a ret.
“Our main competitor has been Uganda, so we are encouraging Tanzania, Rwanda, and other nations to participate and make it a regional affair,” he explained.
He also mentioned plans to digitize content, making it both a learning resource and a potential source of income for learners.
