Palmhouse Foundation Invites Applications for 2024 Scholarships
ABOUT US
Palmhouse Foundation Invites Applications for 2024 Scholarships. The Palmhouse Foundation, whose roots date back to the late 90s, is a beacon of hope and support for those in need. Founded by the altruistic visionaries Eric and Margaret, the Foundation began its journey by helping struggling families and local farmers supplying milk to Palmhouse Dairies in Githunguri. In its early days, the assistance was informal but crucial, addressing the urgent needs of predominantly peasant farmers in the region.
As the number of appeals for assistance grew, the Founder Trustees recognized the need to formalize their support system. In 2002, under the Trust Act and the NGO Coordination Act, the Palmhouse Foundation was established and officially registered. This marked a significant step toward organized philanthropy, highlighting the Foundation’s commitment to sound corporate governance.
Over the years, the Palmhouse Foundation has experienced consistent growth, boasting a dedicated team of 10 trustees and 15 members on the Oversight and Advisory Board. These developments have paved the way for creating efficient and effective operating structures within the Foundation. With a current outreach of over 1000 beneficiaries, more than 700 individuals have completed their secondary education. Many of these bright minds are now pursuing post-secondary education locally and internationally, while others continue their studies in more than 100 of Kenya’s National secondary schools.
